How to Edit Photos on iPad

Master professional photo editing on your iPad using the built-in Photos app. Follow these steps to adjust light, color, and filters with precision.

  1. Open the photo editor. Open the Photos app and select the image you wish to modify. Tap the Edit button located in the top-right corner of the interface to enter the editing workspace.
  2. Apply automated enhancements. Tap the Magic Wand icon in the top toolbar to automatically balance exposure, contrast, and saturation. Use the slider beneath the image to adjust the intensity of the automated adjustments.
  3. Fine-tune light and color. Ensure the Adjust tab is selected in the bottom toolbar. Scroll through the adjustment tools including Brilliance, Highlights, Shadows, and Contrast to refine the image exposure.
  4. Crop and rotate the image. Select the Crop icon at the bottom of the screen. Drag the corner handles to resize the frame or use the dial above the image to straighten the horizon.
  5. Apply stylistic filters. Tap the Filters icon, represented by three intersecting circles. Choose from the available Vivid, Dramatic, or Mono presets to change the color profile of the photo.
  6. Commit your changes. Tap Done in the top-right corner to save your edits to the library. If you prefer to keep the original file, tap Cancel and select Save as New Clip if applicable.
