How to Customize Your iPad Display Settings
Optimize your iPad display for readability and comfort. Learn to adjust brightness, True Tone, Night Shift, and Auto-Lock settings in iPadOS.
- Configure brightness and appearance. Open the Settings app and select Display & Brightness from the sidebar. Use the slider to manually set the brightness level, or toggle Automatic to allow the iPad to adjust based on ambient lighting conditions.
- Enable True Tone for natural color. Within the Display & Brightness menu, locate the True Tone toggle. Enabling this feature automatically adapts the color temperature of your display to match the lighting in your environment.
- Set up Night Shift for eye comfort. Tap Night Shift to schedule color temperature adjustments. Choose Sunset to Sunrise for an automatic shift based on your location, or tap Scheduled to define custom start and end times for the warmer display hue.
- Adjust Auto-Lock timing. Tap Auto-Lock to select the duration of inactivity before the display turns off. Choose between 2 minutes and 5 minutes, or select Never to keep the screen active indefinitely.
- Modify text size and display zoom. Select Text Size to adjust the system font via the slider. Alternatively, select Display Zoom and choose Larger Text for improved readability, or Default for more screen space.
