How to Configure and Use Quick Notes on iPad
Master the iPad Quick Note feature. Learn to trigger, customize, and manage persistent notes for seamless productivity in iPadOS.
- Invoke the Quick Note. Swipe upward diagonally from the bottom-right corner of your iPad screen using an Apple Pencil or your finger. Alternatively, if using a keyboard, press the Globe key plus Q. A small notepad window will appear overlaying your current application.
- Adjust corner swipe settings. Open Settings and navigate to Multitasking & Gestures. Under the Quick Note section, select Swipe Finger from Corner to choose between taking a Quick Note or capturing a Screenshot. You can also disable the gesture if it interferes with your workflow.
- Add deep links to content. When browsing in Safari or using supported apps, tap Add Link at the top of the Quick Note window. This creates a direct link to the webpage or app state, allowing you to return to the exact content later. The link will appear as a small icon within the note.
- Resize and relocate the window. Pinch outward or inward on the Quick Note window to adjust its size. To move it, drag the handle at the top of the window to any of the four corners of the screen. The note will anchor itself to the side to stay out of your way.
- Retrieve your saved Quick Notes. Open the Notes app and locate the Quick Notes folder in the sidebar. All saved entries are stored here automatically, categorized by creation date. You can move these notes to other folders if you want to integrate them into your broader organization system.
