How to Set Up Find My on iPad
Secure your device by enabling Find My on iPad. Follow this step-by-step guide to configure location services, Offline Finding, and Find My network settings.
- Open your Apple ID settings. Launch the Settings app from your Home Screen. Tap your name at the very top of the left-hand sidebar to access your Apple ID account menu.
- Access Find My preferences. Select the Find My option from the list of account services. Tap Find My iPad to enter the primary configuration screen.
- Enable the Find My service. Toggle the switch for Find My iPad to the On position. This enables location tracking and activation lock features for your specific device.
- Enable the Find My network. Ensure the Find My network switch is toggled to the On position. This allows your device to be located even when it is offline or not connected to Wi-Fi or cellular data.
- Enable Send Last Location. Toggle the Send Last Location switch to the On position. Your iPad will automatically send its final location to Apple when the battery level reaches a critical low state.
- Confirm status on iCloud. Open the Find My app on another signed-in Apple device or navigate to iCloud.com/find on a web browser. Confirm your iPad appears on the map with a status of Online.
