How to Enable Find My iPad

Follow these steps to activate Find My on your iPad to track, lock, or erase your device if it is ever lost or stolen.

  1. Open iPad Settings. Locate the Settings app on your Home Screen and tap the icon to launch it. The app is represented by a grey icon containing two interlocking gears.
  2. Select Apple ID profile. Tap your name at the very top of the left-hand sidebar. This opens your Apple ID account management page.
  3. Open Find My settings. Tap the menu labeled Find My. This displays the configuration status for your iPad and connected accessories.
  4. Toggle Find My iPad. Tap Find My iPad at the top of the menu. Slide the toggle to the On position so that it turns green.
  5. Confirm Find My network. Enable the Find My network toggle. This allows your device to be located even when offline by leveraging the crowd-sourced Bluetooth signal of other Apple devices.
