How to set up printing from an iPad
Learn to configure AirPrint on your iPad. Connect to compatible printers, manage print queues, and output documents wirelessly without extra software.
- Confirm network connectivity. Ensure both your iPad and your printer are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. Open Settings on your iPad, tap Wi-Fi, and confirm the network name matches the one used by your printer.
- Open the print menu. Open the app containing the document or image you wish to print. Tap the Share button or the More icon (three dots), then select Print from the action sheet.
- Choose your printer. Tap the Select Printer field at the top of the Print Options screen. Your iPad will automatically scan for AirPrint-enabled devices on your network; tap the name of your printer from the list.
- Adjust print settings. Select the number of copies, specific page range, color mode, and double-sided printing preferences within the Print Options menu. Changes are reflected in the print preview pane immediately.
- Send the job to print. Tap the Print button located in the top-right corner of the screen. Your document will be sent to the printer wirelessly.
- Manage the print queue. To monitor progress or cancel a job, open the App Switcher by swiping up from the bottom of the screen. Tap the Print Center app card to view current tasks and cancel any pending jobs.
