How to set up cellular data on your iPad

Follow these steps to activate and configure cellular data connectivity on your new iPad with an integrated SIM or eSIM.

  1. Open the Cellular Data menu. Launch the Settings app from your Home Screen. Navigate to the Cellular Data tab in the left-hand sidebar to begin the configuration process.
  2. Select Set Up Cellular Data. Tap the Set Up Cellular Data button located in the main pane. This will trigger the internal cellular activation interface provided by Apple.
  3. Choose your carrier plan. Select your carrier from the displayed list of supported providers. Follow the on-screen prompts to sign in to your existing account or select a new data plan.
  4. Confirm plan activation. Review the terms and conditions provided by your carrier and tap Confirm. Your iPad will automatically download the necessary eSIM profile to the device hardware.
  5. Validate your connection status. Once activation completes, the Cellular Data menu will update to display your carrier name and signal strength. Disable Wi-Fi in Control Center to test the active cellular connection by loading a website in Safari.
