How to set up cellular data on your iPad
Follow these steps to activate and configure cellular data connectivity on your new iPad with an integrated SIM or eSIM.
- Open the Cellular Data menu. Launch the Settings app from your Home Screen. Navigate to the Cellular Data tab in the left-hand sidebar to begin the configuration process.
- Select Set Up Cellular Data. Tap the Set Up Cellular Data button located in the main pane. This will trigger the internal cellular activation interface provided by Apple.
- Choose your carrier plan. Select your carrier from the displayed list of supported providers. Follow the on-screen prompts to sign in to your existing account or select a new data plan.
- Confirm plan activation. Review the terms and conditions provided by your carrier and tap Confirm. Your iPad will automatically download the necessary eSIM profile to the device hardware.
- Validate your connection status. Once activation completes, the Cellular Data menu will update to display your carrier name and signal strength. Disable Wi-Fi in Control Center to test the active cellular connection by loading a website in Safari.
