How to Restore Deleted Passwords on iPad

Learn how to recover recently deleted passwords on your iPad using iCloud Keychain's Recently Deleted folder in iPadOS.

  1. Open the Settings app. Launch the Settings app from your Home Screen or Dock. Scroll down the left sidebar until you locate the Passwords tab.
  2. Verify your identity. Tap the Passwords menu item. Authenticate using Face ID, Touch ID, or by entering your device passcode when prompted.
  3. Locate the Recently Deleted folder. Within the main Passwords interface, identify the Recently Deleted folder listed at the bottom of the entry list. If this folder does not appear, no passwords are currently available for recovery.
  4. Choose the credentials to restore. Tap the Recently Deleted folder to view the available items. Select the individual account credentials you wish to recover by tapping the circle next to each entry.
  5. Recover the passwords. Tap the Recover button located at the bottom of the screen. The selected passwords will be moved back to your primary saved passwords list immediately.
