How to Select Which Apps Sync with iCloud on iPad
Learn how to manage your iCloud data sync settings on iPad to optimize storage and choose exactly which apps back up to the cloud.
- Open your Apple ID settings. Launch the Settings app from your Home Screen. Tap your name at the top of the left-hand sidebar to access your Apple ID account menu.
- Access the iCloud menu. Tap the iCloud icon located in the second group of settings. This displays an overview of your current storage usage and synced applications.
- View all synced applications. Tap 'Show All' under the section labeled 'Apps Using iCloud'. This reveals the full list of installed applications that utilize iCloud for data storage and syncing.
- Enable or disable individual apps. Find the specific application you wish to manage in the list. Toggle the switch to the On (green) position to allow syncing or to the Off (gray) position to stop the app from syncing data to your iCloud account.
- Confirm data deletion preferences. If you turn off syncing for an app that previously held data in iCloud, a prompt may appear asking if you want to keep existing data on the device or remove it from iCloud. Select the option that aligns with your storage requirements.
