How to Customize Your iPad Trackpad Settings
Optimize your iPad workflow by adjusting tracking speed, click force, and scrolling direction for connected trackpads or mice.
- Open Trackpad Settings. Connect your trackpad to your iPad via Bluetooth or USB-C. Open the Settings app, scroll down the left sidebar, and tap General, then select Trackpad.
- Set Tracking Speed. Locate the Tracking Speed slider at the top of the menu. Drag the slider to the left for slower, more precise cursor movement or to the right for faster navigation.
- Configure Natural Scrolling. Toggle the Natural Scrolling switch to match your preference. When enabled, content tracks the movement of your fingers on the trackpad.
- Enable Tap to Click. Toggle the Tap to Click switch to enable register clicks by lightly touching the trackpad surface. When disabled, you must physically press the trackpad until it clicks.
- Set Two-Finger Secondary Click. Toggle the Two-Finger Secondary Click switch to define how context menus are triggered. With this enabled, tapping the trackpad with two fingers mimics a right-click.
