How to Customize Your iPad Home Screen

Master iPadOS Home Screen customization. Learn how to add widgets, organize apps, and use App Library for a streamlined interface.

  1. Enter jiggle mode. Press and hold any empty area on your Home Screen or long-press an app icon until all icons begin to animate. This mode allows you to move, delete, or organize your apps and widgets.
  2. Move apps and folders. Drag an app icon to a new location on the current page or slide it to the edge of the screen to move it to a different page. To create a folder, drag one app icon directly on top of another.
  3. Insert widgets. Tap the '+' icon in the top-left corner of the screen while in jiggle mode. Browse the widget gallery, select a widget size, and tap 'Add Widget' to place it onto your Home Screen grid.
  4. Manage Home Screen pages. Tap the dots located just above the Dock while in jiggle mode to open the Page Edit view. Here, you can hide specific pages by unchecking the circle below them or rearrange page order by dragging them left or right.
  5. Commit changes. Tap 'Done' in the top-right corner of the display once you have finished arranging your layout. Your iPad will exit jiggle mode and save your new configuration.
