How to Disable Notifications on Apple Watch
Turn off notifications on your Apple Watch. Disable alerts globally or customize which apps send notifications to your wrist.
- Open Settings on your Apple Watch. On your Apple Watch, press the Digital Crown to go to the home screen. Swipe down or scroll to find and tap the Settings app (gear icon). This is your control center for all watch preferences.
- Tap Notifications. In the Settings menu, scroll down and select 「Notifications」. This shows all notification settings for your watch, including which apps can send alerts and how they behave.
- Select the app you want to disable. Scroll through the list of apps and tap the one you want to manage. You will see options specific to that app's notifications. If you want to disable notifications globally instead, go to step 5.
- Turn off Allow Notifications. On the app's notification screen, toggle 「Allow Notifications」 to OFF (the switch will turn gray). The app will no longer send alerts to your Apple Watch. Return to the Notifications list to manage other apps, or press the Digital Crown to exit.
- Disable all notifications at once (optional). To mute all incoming alerts without disabling each app individually, swipe up from the bottom of any watch face to open Control Center. Tap the bell icon to toggle Silent Mode on. A bell with a slash will appear, and all notifications are silenced.
- Confirm your changes. Ask someone to send you a message or trigger a notification from an app you disabled. Your watch should not alert you. If notifications still appear, return to Settings > Notifications and verify the toggle is fully OFF.
