How to Configure Do Not Disturb on Android
Master Android Do Not Disturb mode. Silence notifications, schedule automatic activation, and allow priority exceptions for essential contacts.
- Navigate to the Do Not Disturb settings. Open the Settings app on your device. Navigate to Sound & vibration, then tap on Do Not Disturb to access the primary configuration menu.
- Set priority exceptions. Tap People to select which contacts can bypass silence. Use the Calls and Messages menus to allow interruptions from Starred contacts, contacts only, or anyone.
- Define app and alarm interruptions. Return to the main menu and select Apps. Add specific applications that must provide notifications regardless of the current status, and verify that Alarms are enabled under the Apps menu to ensure morning wake-up alerts function.
- Create automated schedules. Tap Schedules within the Do Not Disturb menu. Select Add more to define specific windows, such as Sleep or Event-based triggers, which toggle the mode on and off automatically based on your calendar or time.
- Activate Do Not Disturb via Quick Settings. Swipe down twice from the top of your screen to fully expand the Quick Settings panel. Tap the Do Not Disturb tile to toggle the feature instantly.
