How to Enable Google Play Protect

Secure your Android device by enabling Google Play Protect to scan for malicious apps and harmful behavior in real-time.

  1. Open the Google Play Store app. Locate and tap the Google Play Store icon on your home screen or in your app drawer. Ensure you are connected to the internet to access account settings.
  2. Access your profile menu. Tap your profile icon located in the top right corner of the Play Store interface. This opens the account management menu.
  3. Enter Play Protect settings. Tap the Play Protect option from the list. This will take you to the status dashboard for your device security.
  4. Access scanning settings. Tap the Settings icon, represented by a gear symbol, in the top right corner of the Play Protect screen.
  5. Activate scan features. Toggle on both 'Scan apps with Play Protect' and 'Improve harmful app detection'. Enabling both ensures maximum protection against known and unknown threats.
