How to Enable Three-Button Navigation on Android

Revert from gesture navigation to the classic three-button layout on your Android device in seconds.

  1. Open System Settings. Unlock your device and navigate to the Settings application. You can locate this by swiping down from the top of the screen twice to reveal the Quick Settings panel and tapping the gear icon.
  2. Locate System Navigation. Scroll down and select the System menu. Tap on Gestures, then select System navigation to access the input configuration settings.
  3. Select Three-button navigation. You will see two primary options: Gesture navigation and Three-button navigation. Tap the radio button or the card labeled Three-button navigation to activate the traditional interface.
  4. Verify the change. Observe the bottom of your screen. The back triangle, home circle, and recents square icons should now be permanently visible, providing instant input feedback.
