How to Stop Android Apps from Sending Spam Alerts
Disable unwanted app notifications and silence spam alerts on your Android device with these precise system settings adjustments.
- Open the Notifications menu. Open the Settings app on your device. Navigate to Notifications and tap App notifications to view the full list of installed applications.
- Select the offending application. Scroll through the list to find the application sending spam alerts. Tap the application name to reveal its specific notification configuration.
- Manage Notification Categories. Tap Notification categories or Notification channels. This menu displays specific types of alerts the app is permitted to send, such as Promotions, News, or Alerts.
- Toggle off unwanted categories. Switch the toggle to Off for any category identified as spam or unnecessary. This prevents the app from pushing marketing content while keeping essential functional alerts active.
- Restrict total app alerts. If the app continues to spam despite category adjustments, return to the main App notifications screen for that app. Toggle the main switch at the top of the screen to Off to silence all notifications from that source permanently.
