How to Transfer an eSIM to an Android Device
Learn the precise steps to transfer your eSIM profile from one smartphone to an Android device. Ensure seamless connectivity with this direct procedure.
- Verify carrier support. Contact your mobile service provider to confirm they support eSIM transfer to your specific Android model. Some carriers lock eSIM profiles to a single device, requiring a new QR code or activation string generated through their customer portal.
- Access Network settings. Open the Settings app on your Android device. Navigate to Network & internet, then select SIMs. Tap the plus icon or the Add SIM option to initiate the configuration sequence.
- Select eSIM setup method. When prompted, choose the option to download an eSIM instead of using a physical SIM card. If your device supports it, you may see an option to transfer from a nearby device; select this if your previous phone is Android-based and nearby.
- Scan the activation code. Use the camera interface to scan the QR code provided by your carrier. If the QR code is on the screen of another device or cannot be scanned, select Need help? or Enter code manually to input the activation string provided by your service provider.
- Confirm eSIM installation. Wait for the device to connect to the carrier server. Once the profile is detected, tap Download to install the eSIM. You will see a confirmation message once the installation is successful.
- Toggle mobile data. After installation, ensure the new eSIM is set as the active SIM in the SIMs menu. Toggle the Use SIM switch to On. Your device will automatically search for the carrier network to finalize registration.
