How to hide apps on Android

Secure your privacy by hiding apps on your Android device. Follow these steps to remove application icons from your home screen and app drawer effectively.

  1. Open Home Screen settings. Long-press on any empty space on your home screen. Tap the Settings gear icon that appears in the bottom right corner of the menu overlay.
  2. Select Hide apps. Scroll down the Home screen settings menu. Select the Hide apps on Home and Apps screens option to view your installed applications list.
  3. Choose apps to hide. Browse the list of your installed applications. Tap each icon you wish to remove from your interface; selected apps will move to the Hidden apps section at the top of the screen.
  4. Save your changes. Tap the Done button at the bottom of the screen to commit your selections. The system will refresh, and the chosen apps will no longer appear in your app drawer or on the home screen.
  5. Verify hidden status. Navigate to your app drawer and search for the hidden application name. If configured correctly, the search results will return no matches for the hidden application.
