How to Find a Lost Android Phone
Locate, lock, or erase your lost Android device remotely using Google's Find My Device service. Follow these steps to secure your data.
- Access the Find My Device portal. Navigate to android.com/find on a web browser from any computer, tablet, or smartphone. Sign in with the primary Google account associated with the missing device.
- Identify the device location. Once the account syncs, the map will display the last known location of your phone. If the device is currently online, the location will update in real-time.
- Play a sound to find the device nearby. Select the Play Sound option from the sidebar. Your device will ring at full volume for five minutes, even if it is set to vibrate or silent mode.
- Lock the device remotely. Select Secure Device to lock the screen with your PIN, pattern, or password if it is not already secured. You can also display a custom message or phone number on the lock screen so a finder can contact you.
- Erase device data. Select Erase Device only as a last resort if you cannot recover the phone. This action permanently deletes all data on the device and resets it to factory settings.
