How to Verify Your Android Account Recovery Information

Secure your Google account on Android. Learn how to verify your recovery email and phone number to ensure you never lose access to your digital identity.

1. Open Google Account Settings. Open the Settings app on your Android device. Scroll down and tap Google, then select Manage your Google Account at the top of the screen.
2. Locate the Security tab. Within the account menu, swipe across the top navigation bar to find the Security tab. Tap it to view the account's primary security settings.
3. Check recovery information. Scroll down to the 'Ways we can verify it's you' section. Tap on Recovery phone to confirm the existing number is correct, or Recovery email to verify your secondary contact address.
4. Perform a manual update if necessary. If you need to change your recovery details, tap the pencil icon next to the information you wish to modify. Follow the on-screen prompts to input the new contact method.
5. Confirm your status. Return to the main Security page. Look for the 'Security Checkup' prompt at the top of the screen; if it suggests reviewing your recovery info, tap it to verify that Google recognizes your current settings as valid.
