How to Adjust Back Gesture Sensitivity on Android

Learn how to customize back gesture sensitivity on your Android device to prevent accidental triggers while navigating your UI.

  1. Open system navigation settings. Open the Settings app on your device. Navigate to System and tap on Gestures followed by System navigation.
  2. Access gesture settings. Ensure Gesture navigation is selected. Tap the gear icon located to the right of the Gesture navigation option to open the configuration menu.
  3. Modify back sensitivity. Locate the slider labeled Back sensitivity. Move the slider toward Low if you find the gesture triggers too easily, or toward High if the edge swipe is unresponsive.
  4. Test the new sensitivity. Exit the Settings menu and attempt a back gesture from the side of your screen. Observe whether the trigger response aligns with your new configuration.
