How to Change Your Android Launcher

Learn how to replace your default Android home screen with a custom launcher to personalize your interface and improve navigation efficiency.

  1. Download a launcher application. Open the Google Play Store and search for your preferred launcher. Select Install and wait for the application to download and finish the installation process.
  2. Access your system settings. Open the Settings app on your device. Navigate to the Apps section and select Default apps.
  3. Select your launcher app. Tap on Home app to view a list of all installed applications capable of acting as your system launcher. Select your newly installed launcher from this list.
  4. Apply the new default. Confirm your selection if prompted by a system dialog. Press the Home button once to exit the settings menu and initialize your new home screen environment.
  5. Configure launcher preferences. Long-press on an empty area of your new home screen to open the launcher's specific settings menu. Adjust your grid size, icon packs, and gesture controls to match your workflow.
