How to Transfer Data from iPhone to Android

Follow this step-by-step guide to move your photos, contacts, and messages from an iPhone to a new Android device seamlessly.

  1. Disable iMessage on your iPhone. Open Settings on your iPhone and select Messages. Toggle the iMessage switch to the Off position to ensure incoming text messages are delivered to your new device.
  2. Initiate the Android setup process. Power on your new Android device and begin the initial setup. Follow the on-screen prompts until you reach the Copy apps & data screen, then select Next.
  3. Choose the iPhone data source. When prompted, select the Can't use old phone option if you do not have your old cable, or select the cable method if available. Choose iPhone as your data source to generate a QR code on the Android screen.
  4. Scan the transfer QR code. Open the Camera app on your iPhone and scan the QR code displayed on the Android device. This will open the Switch to Android setup page in your mobile browser.
  5. Select and migrate content. Follow the on-screen instructions on the iPhone to select the categories you want to copy, such as Contacts, Photos, and Calendar events. Tap Start to begin the secure transfer over Wi-Fi.
  6. Complete the device setup. Once the progress bar completes on your Android device, continue through the remaining account configuration steps. Log in with your Google account to sync all transferred data.
