How to Configure Emergency Information on Android
Learn how to add medical details and emergency contacts to your Android device so first responders can access them from the lock screen.
- Open the Safety app. Locate and open the Safety application from your home screen or app drawer. This system-integrated app serves as the centralized hub for all emergency settings on your Android device.
- Access Emergency Information. Tap the Emergency information tile located on the main dashboard. If this is your first time accessing this menu, the system will prompt you to initialize your personal profile.
- Enter your medical details. Select Edit information to input your blood type, known allergies, current medications, and any other relevant medical conditions. Only include information that would be essential for paramedics in an emergency.
- Add emergency contacts. Tap Add contact to select individuals from your existing address book. Choose contacts who are reachable and hold authority to make decisions on your behalf.
- Confirm lock screen access. Lock your device and wake the screen. Tap Emergency on the PIN/Pattern entry screen, then tap Emergency information twice to confirm that your data appears correctly without needing to unlock the phone.
