How to sign in to your Google Account on Android

Follow these steps to sign in to your Google Account on a new Android device and sync your apps, contacts, and data seamlessly.

  1. Open the device settings. Unlock your device and locate the Settings app from your home screen or app drawer. Tap the gear icon to launch the menu.
  2. Locate the Passwords and accounts menu. Scroll down the list and tap Passwords & accounts. On some device skins, this may appear as Users & accounts or Google.
  3. Add your Google Account. Tap the Add account button. Select Google from the list of available service providers to open the authentication interface.
  4. Enter your credentials. Input your full Gmail address and tap Next. Enter your password when prompted and tap Next again to proceed with the sign-in process.
  5. Accept the terms of service. Review the Google Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Tap I agree to confirm your consent and link the account to the hardware.
  6. Configure sync settings. Choose which data categories to synchronize, such as Contacts, Calendar, and Drive. Tap Done to finalize the setup.
