How to Set Up an eSIM on Android

Follow these steps to activate an eSIM on your Android device. Learn how to scan a QR code or enter manual details for seamless cellular connectivity.

  1. Open Network Settings. Open the Settings app on your device. Navigate to Network & internet, then tap on SIMs to manage your cellular configurations.
  2. Initiate eSIM Addition. Select Add SIM or the plus (+) icon located next to SIMs. Choose Download a SIM if you have an eSIM or are switching from another device.
  3. Scan Carrier QR Code. Position your device camera over the QR code provided by your wireless carrier. Once scanned, your device will automatically retrieve the necessary network configuration profile.
  4. Enter Details Manually. If you cannot scan the code, tap Need help? followed by Enter it manually. Input the SM-DP+ address, Activation Code, and Confirmation Code provided in your carrier documentation.
  5. Download and Activate. Tap Download to finalize the installation of the eSIM profile. Once downloaded, toggle the Use SIM switch to the On position to establish cellular service.
  6. Restart Device. Perform a standard device restart to ensure network registration is completed successfully. Verify the status bar displays cellular signal strength for your new eSIM.
