How to set up an Android work profile

Separate your professional and personal data on Android. Follow these steps to configure a secure Work Profile for enhanced privacy and management.

  1. Initiate the setup process. Open the Settings app on your device and tap Passwords & accounts. Tap Add account and select the option for your work account, typically identified by your organization's management app or standard Google Work account login.
  2. Verify your identity. Enter your corporate email address and password when prompted. You may be redirected to your company's identity provider portal to complete a multi-factor authentication check.
  3. Install the management policy. Review the Terms of Service provided by your organization regarding device monitoring and privacy. Tap Accept & continue to authorize the installation of the necessary Android Device Policy profile.
  4. Complete the work profile creation. Wait for the system to finish setting up the work container. Your phone will generate a separate set of work-specific applications, distinguished by a briefcase icon overlay on their app icons.
  5. Confirm profile isolation. Access your app drawer and toggle to the Work tab at the bottom of the screen. Confirm that your work applications are visible and logically separated from your personal apps.
