How to Change the Default Web Browser on Android
Follow these steps to set your preferred web browser as the default on any Android device running Android 12 or newer.
- Open the system settings. Unlock your device and locate the Settings app icon. Tap the gear icon to launch the full system settings menu.
- Access the application manager. Scroll down and tap on Apps. Depending on your specific manufacturer skin, this may be labeled as Apps & notifications or Application Manager.
- Select default apps. Tap on Default apps. If you do not see this immediately, tap on See all apps or Advanced to reveal the hidden submenu.
- Choose the browser app. Locate the Browser app option in the list. Tap the Browser app field to view a selection of all web browsers currently installed on your device.
- Set the new default. Select your preferred browser from the provided list. The checkmark will move to the selected application, confirming the change is active.
