How to Fix Android Storage Full
Free up space on your Android device by clearing cache, managing large files, and offloading media to the cloud. Regain storage efficiency in minutes.
- Identify the primary storage consumers. Open the Settings app and navigate to Storage. Review the breakdown of categories including Apps, Images, Videos, and Audio to locate the largest space hoggers.
- Clear cached data for individual apps. Go to Settings > Apps > See all apps. Select an app, tap Storage & cache, and choose Clear cache to remove temporary files without deleting your personal account data.
- Offload high-resolution media to the cloud. Open the Google Photos app and tap your profile icon. Select Photos settings > Backup and ensure your library is synced, then tap Free up space to remove items from your local storage that are already backed up.
- Uninstall unused applications. Long-press an unused app icon on your home screen or app drawer. Tap App info and select Uninstall to reclaim the storage space occupied by the application package.
- Remove large downloads and temporary files. Open the Files by Google app. Select the Browse tab and tap Downloads to find and delete large documents, installation files, or media you no longer require.
