How to Customize Your Samsung Home Screen

Master your Samsung Galaxy home screen. Learn how to add widgets, change layouts, and customize themes for a personalized Android experience.

  1. Enter Home screen edit mode. Tap and hold any empty space on your Home screen. The interface will shrink, revealing the editing toolbar at the bottom of the display.
  2. Adjust the grid layout. Tap Settings in the bottom right corner of the edit menu. Select Home screen grid and choose your preferred density, such as 4x5, 5x5, or 5x6, then tap Done to apply the new layout.
  3. Add and manage widgets. Return to the main edit menu and tap Widgets. Browse the available options, tap and hold your desired widget, and drag it to your chosen position on the Home screen.
  4. Apply custom themes and wallpapers. Tap Themes from the edit menu to open the Galaxy Themes store. Select a theme or wallpaper, download the asset, and tap Apply to synchronize the icons and background across your device.
  5. Rearrange app icons. Touch and hold any application icon until the context menu appears. Drag the icon to the desired location on your grid or move it to the edge of the screen to place it on a different page.
  6. Save your configuration. Once you have finished your adjustments, tap the Back button or swipe from the edge of the screen to exit edit mode. Your changes will be saved automatically.
