How to Customize Quick Settings on Android

Learn to rearrange, add, or remove tiles in your Android Quick Settings panel to optimize your device workflow and access tools faster.

  1. Open the full Quick Settings panel. Swipe down from the top of your screen with two fingers, or swipe down once and then swipe down a second time to reveal the full panel of tiles. Ensure the grid is fully expanded before proceeding.
  2. Enter edit mode. Locate the Pencil icon situated at the bottom-left or bottom-center of the expanded settings panel. Tap this icon to transition the view into editing mode, where you can move and swap tiles.
  3. Rearrange active tiles. Identify the tile you wish to move. Long-press the icon, then drag it to your desired position within the grid and release. The first few tiles in the top row appear in your collapsed status bar view.
  4. Add new functional tiles. Scroll down to the 'Hold and drag to add tiles' section at the bottom of the screen. Locate the desired function, then long-press and drag it upward into the active area of your panel.
  5. Remove unused tiles. Drag any unwanted tile from the active top section down to the bottom area labeled 'Drag here to remove' or 'Hold and drag to add tiles'. Once released, the tile will no longer appear in your primary Quick Settings view.
  6. Save your configuration. Exit edit mode by tapping the back arrow or the checkmark icon located at the bottom or top-right of your screen. Your changes are saved instantly and reflected in the system UI.
