How to Customize iPhone Keyboard Settings

Master your typing experience on iOS. Learn to configure autocorrect, predictive text, multilingual keyboards, and text replacement shortcuts efficiently.

  1. Navigate to Keyboard Settings. Open the Settings app from your Home Screen. Scroll down and tap General, then select Keyboard to view all available typing configurations.
  2. Adjust All-Purpose Typing Features. Review the primary toggles for Auto-Correction, Smart Punctuation, and Predictive text. Enable or disable these based on your typing habits to improve speed and reduce errors.
  3. Add New Keyboards. Tap Keyboards at the top of the menu, then select Add New Keyboard. Choose your desired language from the list to enable multilingual typing capabilities.
  4. Create Text Replacements. Select Text Replacement from the keyboard menu. Tap the plus (+) icon in the top-right corner to map a shortcut phrase to a full word or sentence.
  5. Enable Haptic Feedback. Tap Haptic Feedback within the Keyboard menu. Toggle Haptic to On to receive physical vibration confirmation with every keystroke.
