How to locate downloaded files on Android

Locate files saved to your Android device quickly using the Files by Google application. Follow this guide to manage your storage effectively.

  1. Open the Files by Google application. Locate and tap the Files icon on your home screen or within your app drawer. If the app is not present, download it from the Google Play Store.
  2. Access the Browse tab. Tap the Browse tab located in the bottom navigation bar. This screen displays all file categories available on your device storage.
  3. Select the Downloads folder. Locate the Categories section and tap on the Downloads folder. This folder serves as the default destination for all files retrieved through your web browser.
  4. Sort and filter your files. Tap the three-dot menu icon in the top right corner to sort by Name, Date, or Size. Use the search bar at the top if you are looking for a specific filename.
  5. Manage your downloaded files. Long-press any file to select it. From the pop-up menu, you can choose to move, copy, share, or delete the file as needed.
